Slow Color . 2017
Slow Color is a project that was funded by a 2017 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist's Initiative Grant. In these photos it is installed at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. The images below trace some of the early development and research, the construction process, and the final installation. The goal is to create a kind of slow animation so that when one walks past, the view changes subtly and slowly, color by color. I hope this will make the passage through this hallway just a little bit more interesting and that employees and visitors will actually look forward to this small moment in their day.
Colorways . 2012
Colorways is a project that was funded by a 2012 Minnesota State Arts Board Artist's Initiative Grant. It is a series of 16 weavings that gradate in color, one to the next. It is designed to animate the space as the viewer passes by. I created it to be installed in a vacuous, public space, that's well trafficked. It traveled to various public locations and is now permanently installed at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. The photos here show various installation locations as well as some process photos.
